Purple UFO is a very, very lovely plant. It has a slim figure with nice strong branches that fill up with tons of pods. The pods ripen from purple to orange and finally deep red. The placenta on orange and red peppers remains purple which is really cool to see when you slice riper pods open.
The heat ranges from med to hot, pretty much like a jalapeño. The pods are good at every stage. When they are purple they are crispy and milder but when they ripen to red the flavour deepens and heat picks up some.
The pods keep forever and will actually easily dry themselves on the counter. The flavour is really nice with just a touch of sweetness.
