Bred by David Podoll of North Dakota to ripen in northern, short seasons and fluctuating weather conditions making it easier to grow successfully here in our climate. It's been called one of the sweetest open-pollinated watermelons and isn't overloaded with seeds. It has a thin but still firm skin that handles and stores well. It grew fabulously for us on the farm in the heat and lack of rain of 2018. We love it. Fruits have a stripped green rind with sweet and juicy rosy pink flesh and grow to 8-12 lbs. This is an Open Source-pledged variety. 82 days to maturity.
